HYDRAULIC PRESS TO TEST PIPES FOR TIGHTNESS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC G01M3/08 

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: proposed hydraulic press comprises foundation consisting of two crosspieces and two columns jointing the said crosspieces. Each of the latter is mounted on bogie running on track to reciprocate along aforesaid columns. Proposed press incorporates mandrel with sealing assembly and orifice to feed fluid into tested pipe, and mandrel with sealing assembly and orifice to discharge air from tested pipe in filling pipes with fluid. Moving crosspiece and press force transfer mechanisms are integrated. For this column ends have threaded part and nuts coupled with crosspiece. Press incorporates two worm gears with drive, coupled with aforesaid nuts via chain transmission. Thrust plain bearing supports each nut.

EFFECT: simplified design and pipe dismantling after tests.
