FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: wear resistance of cemented-carbide cutting tool is forecasted and controlled by complex index of forces and pH in surface poly oxide mass formed on cutting tool surface during high-temperature oxidation at cutting temperature and duration equal to those before preset wear criterion. Use of proposed method proceeds from close correlation between properties of poly oxide films and pH, and wear resistance of cemented-carbide cutting tool. With surface poly oxide mass pH increasing, wear resistance of cemented-carbide cutting tools increases.
EFFECT: higher accuracy, lower labor input.
