FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: testing for input parameter change due to properties of surface and volume structure, formed during manufacturing of carbide cutting material, reference wear tests during cutting of the materials resulting in intensive adhesive wear at optimal or close to it cutting speed, plotting of the reference - correlation relationship "wear resistance - input parameter", statistic monitoring of only input parameter of the current batch of the carbide cutting tools, forecast of wear resistance for current batch of the carbide cutting tools based on the relationship. Volume concentration value of oxide compound is used as initial parameter based on cobalt and tungsten - CoWO4, forming a part of complex surface polyoxide formation, formed on the surface of the carbide samples when heated in an electric furnace, with the increase in concentration of the mentioned oxide compound based on cobalt and tungsten, wear capability of carbide cutting tools of group R increases.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and lower labor input of forecast of wear resistance of carbide cutting tools.
