FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to photo technology and may be used in processes of automated digital photocopying. Method for assessment of image quality includes image separation into blocks, calculation of brightness histogram of each block, analysis of brightness histogram of each block, assignment of classification criterion to each block, assignment of classification criterion to image as a whole. Automatic computer system of exposure analysis, with the help of which method is realised, comprises the following components: input device from group of devices intended for production of digital images, record medium, block of memory for recording of digital images, program facility for analysis of exposure for assessment of exposure data for digital images and selection of images classification, processor for execution of program recorded in memory, output device, where image is sent after processing, data bus bar intended for information exchange between system elements.
EFFECT: automatic improvement of digital images due to classification of defects in exposure of digital images.
