METHOD OF TREATMENT OF RETINA DETACHMENT COMPLICATED BY PROLIFERATE VITERO-RETINOPATHY Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61F9/08

Abstract RU 2371151 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, particularly ophthalmology. Method involves vitrectomy with vitreous body colouring by corticosteroids, circular retinotomy, introduction of perfluororganic compound (PFOC), endolaser coagulation and PFOC replacement with silicon oil. Initially three transconjuctiva punctures by trocar in the flat part of ciliary body with 3.5 mm indent from limbus, at sharp angle against sclera and with preliminary displacement of conjunctiva. Three 'ports' are installed to let irrigation system, light duct and vitreotome inside eye cavity. After vitrectomy along the circle border of rear hyaloid membrane junction with retina, retina vessel endocoagulation is performed by diathermocoagulator and continued in radial direction towards centre by 1-3 mm, along 3, 6, 9, 12 hour meridians. Further circular retinotomy is performed along diathermocoagulate line and continued in radial direction along diathermocoagulate lines at the same meridians. Retina residues with peripheral proliferate tissue are removed completely. Additionally corticosteroids are injected into vitreal cavity to colour rear retina surface, and then coloured subretinal proliferate membranes are removed. Endolaser coagulation of retina is performed along retinotomy edge in two rows, then one more row of endolaser coagulates is applied onto central diathermocoagulate lines, and after PFOC replacement with silicon oil the 'ports' are removed without sutures.

EFFECT: maintained retina fit and visual functions, reduced risk of complications and reproliferation degree of proliferate tissue, reduced number of retina detachment recurrence.
