FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in measuring vehicle noise during vehicle acceleration in different gears along specific cut length and selecting maximum noise level. Then during additional run in a gear and on vehicle side, maximum level outer noise is recorded in memory device. Now particular frequencies of vehicle assembly units and parts are calculated, recorded noise spectrogram is obtained, designed magnitudes of aforesaid frequencies are plotted on said spectrograms for noise sources to be identified and ranked. Several mikes are installed along aforesaid specific cut lengths, equally spaced apart, to record outer noise from every mike and to produce general spectrogram of outer noise.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of noise source ranking.
