FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engineering acoustics, in particular - to a method for measurement of a vehicle outer noise and may be used for identification of noise sources and their ranging. The method consists in a series of noise measurements during the vehicle passage in the speed-up mode at different gears relative to a stationary microphone with subsequent selection of the maximum value recorded. Then during additional passage of the vehicle one records the outer noise with a storage device at the gear and from the vehicle side corresponding to the maximum value. After that one calculates the characteristic frequencies of the car assemblies, obtains a spectrogram of the outer noise recorded and marks the rated value of characteristic frequencies on it. Then a second additional run of the vehicle is performed. After that one obtains the spectrogram of noise for the second additional run, marks the rated value of characteristic frequencies on it identifies noise sources and, with account for that, performs the sources ranging by the first additional run of the vehicle.
EFFECT: improved authenticity of noise sources identification and ranging.
