FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of catalysts used in the synthesis of aliphatic hydrocarbons from CO and H2 (Fischer Tropsch synthesis). A method of preparing catalyst is described. At the first stage, a calcined carrier - gamma aluminium oxide is saturated with zirconyl nitrate dihydrate, at the second stage, material obtained after calcination is saturated with aqueous solution of cobalt nitrate into one or more stages. If there is more than one stage for saturating with aqueous solution of cobalt nitrate, there is intermediate calcination of material obtained at the previous stage at temperature ranging from 400 to 450°C.

EFFECT: obtaining catalyst with regulated activity and selectivity towards defined groups of hydrocarbons.
