FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is designed in which the usually used aromatic hydrocarbon coupling reaction solvent is changed to aliphatic or cycloparaffin. A method is proposed for producing phenylmethyldichlorosilanes and diphenylmethylchlorosilanes through a Grignard reaction, which involves reacting phenyl Grignard reagent, ether solvent, trichlorosilane and aliphatic or cycloparaffin hydrocarbon reaction solvent; molar ratio of ether solvent to phenyl Grignard reagent is 2:5, molar ratio of trichlorosilane to phenyl Grignard reagent is 0.1:10, and molar ratio of aliphatic or cycloparaffin hydrocarbon reaction solvent to phenyl Grignard reagent is 3:7.
EFFECT: method is more environmentally friendly compared to a method which uses aromatic hydrocarbons.
