FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: metal-containing polysalicylidene azomethines are produced through polycondensation of disalicylidene derivatives of aromatic diamines with acetates or acetylacetonates of bivalent metals, mainly Co, Mn, Ni, Cu, Fe, Cd, Zn. Polycondensation is carried out for 3 to 4 hours at 80 to 100°C in an argon current in a dimethyl formamide solution with quantitative output. Polymers obtained in accordance with the invention contain complexes of Schiff bases with metals in their structure. These polymers combine electrical properties of metals and resistance to high temperature, with advantages of organic metals i.e. they are conductors with acceptable technological properties.
EFFECT: films made from said polymers have good adhesion to different substrates.
