SUBSTANCE: diet therapy is carried out by limiting food products consumption by person, taking into account calculation in which from optimal, brought to person's metabolism balance, day need in food products planned day change of patient's body weight is subtracted. Planned day change of body weight is determined by division of planned total body weight reduction in grams by number of days during which it is planned to lose weight. Optimal, brought to person's metabolism balance, day need in food products in "Light" units is determined by formula L_opt=N×P×(1.15-0.005×F)×D where: N - optimisation coefficient; P - person's body weight, kg; F - person's age, year; D - coefficient of diet resistance, and selection of necessary amount and menu of consumed food products are determined by enumeration of total energy value of products by means of coefficients.

EFFECT: invention is used for treatment of obesity by means of diet in people who suffer from excessive body weight.
