FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire-fighting equipment and can be used when designing radioelectronic units (hereinafter REU) for different purposes. The REU contains printed-circuit board placed horizontally, vertically and arbitrarily relative each other, the walls of the REU housing, walls of all elements built into the REU housing at distances which are not greater than values at which there is no burning of any non-melting structural non-metallic materials between the printed-circuit boards. The end faces of the printed-circuit boards are placed relative the REU walls, as well as relative walls of elements built into the REU at distances which are not greater than maximum distances for burning of end sections of the printed-circuit boards and walls of elements made from combustible non-metallic materials. The REU housing has a compact unsealed design and is made from non-combustible materials, the structure of which prevents penetration of ventilation gas streams from the pressure compartment into the inner chamber of the REU, moving at a speed of Vgp which is higher than the maximum value for burning of the used non-metallic materials Vpr, which enables to satisfy the condition for fire safety of the REU: Vpr≥Kb*Vgp, where Kb - is the safety coefficient.
EFFECT: ensuring fire safety of the REU under zero gravity, mainly in orbital flight of manned spacecraft.
