FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solid fuel bricks which can be used as an additive to furnace-charge in blast-furnace production of cast iron, in conversion and open-hearth processes. In the first version the fuel brick contains coke screenings and liquid glass, and additionally flux and iron-containing industrial material, with the following ratio of components, wt %: coke screenings 10 to 20, flux 35 to 45, iron-containing industrial material 20 to 50, liquid glass 5 to 15. In the second version the fuel brick contains coke screenings and liquid glass, and additionally flux in the following ratio of ingredients, wt %: coke screenings 10 to 20, flux 65 to 85, liquid glass 5 to 15. In the third version the fuel brick contains coke screenings and liquid glass, and additionally iron-containing industrial material in the following ratio of ingredients, wt %: coke screenings 10 to 20, iron-containing industrial material 65 to 85, liquid glass 5 to 15.

EFFECT: increased strength of bricks and reduced consumption of coke when smelting cast iron or steel.
