FIELD: energetics.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for the conversion of alternating voltage taken from the independent undercar generator or from the step-down three-phase transformer of the station network or board train line into the supply voltage of the passenger carriage users, and can be used in power supply for all users of the locomotive-hauled passenger carriage. The control unit provides for the power supply of air-conditioning, heating, ventilation, lighting and other systems as well as for recharging of the accumulator storage batteries of the passenger carriage. The voltage control unit for passenger carriages comprises an input part for the rectification of AC input three-phase voltage into the DC stabilised voltage at the output and a low-voltage output part for the stabilisation of the voltage at the level sufficient for the carriage users' power supply and for ensuring optimal charging rate of the carriage accumulators. All devices included in the unit are mounted on plates and are set in a casing. The input part is a low-voltage one and comprises the first and the second rectifier bridges consisting of the fist and second AC/DC converters, input of the first one is connected to the undercar electric generator through a safety device; input of the second one - to the step-down three-phase transformer of the station supply network. Their outputs are combined and the voltage is used for the power supply of respectively the first and the second DC/DC converters the outputs of which are also combined and connected to the power output terminals used for the connection of load and accumulator charging circuits and through an isolation diodes assembly to the additional third DC/DC converter which is used for the control of the generator excitation winding current to obtain the required voltage from its output. The first, second and third DC/DC converters through a CAN bar are connected to the external unit for the diagnostics and protection of electrical equipment, displaying state and working modes, information exchange with automatics devices. The control unit is placed in a casing consisting of a main housing, a front door, a rear door in the form of a radiator and an additional housing. The following units are set inside the casing: a control board set on poles at an angle and basic plates - on the lower housing surface; power elements - on the rear wall; protection elements, fittings for power and signal cables and terminals for their connection - on the side housing walls; a throttle block - on the upper surface.
