SUBSTANCE: composition for applying a photoactive coating on the surface of materials and providing oxidative destruction of chemicals contains a polar organic solvent, an organosilicon compound, water and 1-150 g/l of nanocrystalline anatase-modified titanium dioxide or nanocrystalline anatase-modified titanium dioxide containing nitrogen impurities, or nitrogen impurities, iron and copper. The nitrogen impurity content is up to 1% of the mass of nanocrystalline titanium dioxide. The composition contains isopropyl or ethyl alcohol or ethyl acetate as a polar organic solvent, and ethyl silicate as an organosilicon compound. The composition also additionally contains an inorganic acid from the range including sulfuric, nitric, or hydrochloric acids. The volume ratio of ethyl silicate: polar organic solvent is from 1:19 to 1:1, respectively. The volume fraction of inorganic acid is 0.1-10%, and the volume fraction of water is 5-25%.

EFFECT: composition ensures the stability of the coating on the surface of porous and non-porous materials, oxidative degradation of chemicals and biomacromolecules, self-cleaning under the action of sunlight and room light sources.
