FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to method of vacuum application of ion-plasma coating and can be implemented at machine building, mainly for hard-duty parts, for example working and guiding blades of turbo-machines. The method consists of arranging parts on a facility in a vacuum chamber, on applying electrical shifting to parts, of ion cleaning of part surface and of applying coating on them by electric arc evaporation of materials by means of excitation of arc between anodes and cathodes connected to individual sources of electric feed. In the process of coating application similar long length flat cooled planar plates out of applied material of coating are used as cathodes and anodes. Periodically electrical polarity of planar plates is changed to opposite by switching anodes to cathode polarity, while switching cathodes to anode polarity also facilitating value of ratio of anode surfaces (Fa) to cathode surfaces (Fk) not less two (Fa/Fk≥2) at summary of anodes (ΣFa) and cathodes (ΣFk) equal to 20%…90% of all internal surface of the vacuum chamber (Fv.k.).
EFFECT: increased factor of applied material use.
