FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is described for producing ultrahigh molecular polyacrylonitrile, based on employing an anionic polymerisation mechanism, which involves preparation of initial reagents, synthesis of an anionic initiator, polymerisation, separation and drying the obtained polymer, where polymerisation is carried out in an atmosphere of argon using a freshly distilled solvent - dimethylformamide in amount of 350 to 460 ml and an acrylonitrile monomer in amount of 60 to 70 ml. Temperature conditions are provided for the process, with initial temperature of the reaction mixture ranging from -50 to -20°C. Lithium 1,2-bis-diethylamino-2-oxoethanolate initiator is added in amount of not more than 0.52·10-3 moles. The reaction mixture is deactivated with dimethylformamide and acetic acid 15 to 60 seconds after the beginning of the process, in volume ratio of 10:1. The polymer is precipitated in water, separated by filtering, washed with water and dried at temperature of 60°C.
EFFECT: polymer with high output and characteristics of ultrahigh molecular polyacrylonitrile.
