FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physics, specifically to methods and devices for measuring two or more variables, and is meant for evaluating masking characteristics of aerosols, taking into account dimensions, colour of masking objects, backgrounds on which they lie, as well as their observation conditions. Using a video-measuring system 1, test images (line targets) are recorded, where the test images are displayed on a monitor 2, through a chamber 3, which is filled with aerosol, made in form of a triangular prism, with different values of precipitated density of the aerosol on lines of vision of different length l1-l5.

EFFECT: possibility of determining values of precipitated density in a single experiment, which can make difficult (prevent) detection, recognition or identification of a masked object.
