SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of objects by setting aerosol formations and can be used to mask objects. Parameters of the weather conditions, coordinates and intensity of the discharge of an aerosol-forming composition (AFC) are determined, aerosol screen (A3) is formed. Scanning on the area A3 by directional optical radiation is performed, scattered A3 optical radiation is received and its parameters are measured, spatial parameters of the A3 are determined and the scattering coefficient KR is calculated. Sun radiation is received, the magnitude of its brightness is determined, the attenuation coefficient Katt is calculated, value of the contrast ratio Ko is calculated, its value is compared with the threshold Ksupp, if Ko> Ksupp, then the intensity of the AFC reset is increased, if Ko<Ksupp, then the intensity of the AFC reset is reduced. Spatial parameters of the AFC reset are corrected.

EFFECT: effectiveness of object protection is improved by controlling the geometric and optical parameters of an aerosol cloud in the process of setting up the A3.
