SUBSTANCE: proposed are a data carrier, as well as a device for recording/playing back and a method of recording/playing back from the data carrier. Initial data on the carrier are successively updated by replacing the initial recording unit with one ore more substitute recording units. A substitute recording unit includes a source address field, which indicates location of the initial recording unit, and a preceding address field, which indicates location of the immediately preceding recording unit.
EFFECT: more efficient playback of data in a system which uses logic rewriting.
