SUBSTANCE: invention refers to data carrier, such as optical disk, record/reproduction device and method. Data carrier, record/reproduction device and method are developed to ensure higher efficiency of data reproduction. The record/reproduction device includes: reading/record module for data recording on data carrier and data reading from this carrier; control module for controlling reading/record module for record of replay unit with logic overwrite (LOW) for data updating which have been recorded in the first area of the carrier, record of replay unit for replaying defective block created in the second area of the carrier, and record of the second replay unit for replaying defect of the first replay unit in the second area if defect is found during recording of the first replay unit in the first area for logic overwrite of the origin unit recorded in predetermined area, creation of element of defect list (DFL), including information of origin unit position and information of the second replay unit position so that to specify replay mode and movement of information of the first replay unit to the second one. As a result area for defect replay and area for LOW replay are distinguished from each other, and efficiency of data reproduction can be increased by efficient controlling replay information through defect replay is created owing to defect during LOW replay.
