SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic circuits and can be used for direct frequency up-conversion. The method of frequency up-conversion in a transmitter involves generation of a heterodyne signal based on a signal from a voltage controlled oscillator, tuning amplitude of the heterodyne signal based on amplitude of the output signal at radio frequency and direct frequency up-conversion of the input signal in the baseband using a heterodyne signal of variable amplitude. The device has a heterodyne oscillator, made with possibility of receiving a signal from the voltage controlled oscillator and generating heterodyne signals of variable amplitude and frequency, a variable gain amplifier, which is made with possibility of tuning amplitude of heterodyne signals, and a frequency up-converter.

EFFECT: reduced effect of leakage of the heterodyne signal into the output signal.
