FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine and can be used in thoracic surgery in isolation of thracheoesophageal fistulas on cervical and upper thoracic levels. Essence of method lies in isolation, section or dissection of sinus tract, suture of trachea wall defect, double suture of esophagus wall defect, separation of suture line on trachea and esophagus by means of vascularised muscular flap of sternothyroid muscle. Sternothyrois muscle is prepared as a whole from beginning to place of its fixation to oblique line of thyroid cartilage, on which it is transected. Obtained and mobilised in such way muscular flap id removed aside exposing access to tracheoesophageal fistula orifice.

EFFECT: application of claimed invention allows to isolate tracheoesophageal fistulas of considerate length, minimise traumaticity and preserve blood supply by use of flap.
