FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to abrasive machining of workpieces. Workpiece is fixed on axially travelling centers. Workpieces and grinding wheel are rotated. Workpiece and worktable are continuously fed in lengthwise direction, while grinding wheel is intermittently fed radially per single or double stroke of workpiece and worktable. Workpiece is axially oscillated during the entire cycle of grinding with amplitude selected subject to grinding wheel abrasive grit limits.
EFFECT: higher quality and efficiency.
