FIELD: high-accuracy deep peripheral grinding. SUBSTANCE: method is used for grinding of stepped surfaces of blanks made of materials predisposed to formation of defects such as burns and microcracks. Grinding of stepped blanks is performed by grinding wheel, axis of rotation and its axis is positioned at and angle α to axis of part rotation or to surface being ground. In circular grinding simultaneous combined infeed grinding of cylindrical and face surfaces is performed and during flat grinding steeped surfaces forming convex and concave profiles are ground. To provide for noncontinuous grinding, grinding wheel is set at an angle β to plane perpendicular to axis of its rotation. Wheel sizes and angle β are selected by the calculated formulae. Method ensures burnless operation of wheel, reduced thermal stress in contact zone and improved conditions of cooling. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 6 dwg
