FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to high-voltage insulators. High-voltage insulator for attachment of high-voltage wire in electric installation or on power line contains insulation core first end of which is meant for mechanical connection to high-voltage wire and/or to its fixing device, and attached to second end metal mountings for insulator fixing on structure. Insulator is additionally provided with multi-electrode system (MES) consisting of 5 and more (preferably 100 and more) electrodes mechanically connected to insulation core and arranged between its ends. Electrodes are installed with possibility to generate electrical discharge between adjoining electrodes, between electrode adjoining to first end of insulation core and high-voltage wire or its attachment fitting and also between electrode adjoining to second end of insulation core and metal mountings connected to structure. Insulator is additionally provided with means of compensation of shortening of length of insulator creepage path which is input by multi-electrode system. These means of compensation are preferably designed to provide creepage path length over insulation surface between adjoining electrodes exceeding length of aerial discharge gap between these electrodes and length of one of mentioned electrodes. As means of compensation insulating elements may be used, each of them is fixed on insulator surface and bears one of electrodes of multi-electrode system. The same function may be performed by slots made in insulation core between electrodes. Surge absorbers are not required for power line using such insulators.
EFFECT: development of insulator capable of safe and effective performance of functions both of insulator and surge absorber.
