FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ceramic industry, particularly, to forming large-size ceramic products representing bodies of revolution by the method of water slip casting into gypsum moulds. Proposed method comprises filling slip into capillary-active, e.g. gypsum, mould, building up ceramic workpiece on mould surface, the mould being continuously fed with fresh slip and slip gravitation lamination being reduced. Proposed method differs from known method in that aforesaid build-up of workpiece is carried out in conditions eliminating the effect of gravitational lamination of slip solid phase particles. Vector of motion of aforesaid particles towards mould surface is kept unchanged due to capillary suction of gypsum mould brought about by mould rotation at the rate of 0.5 to 3.0 rpm around mould axis inclined to horizon at the angle that allows flow of feeding slip on entire surface of workpiece being moulded.
EFFECT: forming of homogeneous large-size parts, bodies of revolution; improved quality of large-size parts.
