FIELD: manufacture of articles of complex configuration from quartz ceramics by methods of slip casting and centrifugal casting.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preparation of highly-concentrated aqueous suspension of quartz glass by wet grinding of glass followed by slip casting in gypsum mold for molding the layer of ceramic blank and nose or bottom section of article, after which centrifugal casting is performed in the same mold for final molding of article; then, article is dried and is subjected to heat treatment. Time of molding the nose section of article ranges from 0.5 to 3.0 h depending on profile and thickness of wall of article; centrifugal molding is performed at rotational speed of 500-1000 rpm for 10-30 min.
EFFECT: reduction of molding time; enhanced strength of articles; high homogeneity of material; increased thickness of wall at base of article.
