FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used for adjusting ultrasonic defect detectors. Essence consists in the fact that there performed is adjustment and check of parametres of ultrasonic defect detector by means of matrix unit with flat angular reflectors applied to its surface and imitating the shape and dimensions of actual defects by installing the matrix unit of inclined converter on working surface and by means of subsequent scanning of a number of working surfaces of flat angular reflectors provided with linearly changing areas till echo signals are obtained; echo signals different as to value are obtained from all the working surfaces of angular reflectors, the amplitudes of echo signals are recorded with defect detector indicator in positive and negative decibel units within the range of changing the values from any support reflector for which change in decibels is equal to zero, to maximum value from reflector of maximum size; then obtained values of echo signal amplitudes are entered to table, and graph of experimental dependence of set of relations of echo signal amplitudes is built within +6 dB to -20 dB from relation set of dimensions of areas of flat angular reflectors, which corresponds to them, and by analysing and comparing echo signal amplitude values obtained at certain scanning pitch with dimension of less than 2 dB, linearity of electroacoustical path of defect detector is determined and its correspondence to tolerance limit specified with normative documents is estimated in case linearity is beyond tolerance limit, readjustment of equipment is performed by means of attenuator of defect detector till linearity of electroacoustical path is reached.

EFFECT: increasing level and versatility of its adjustment of electroacoustical path linearity parametres, limiting sensitivity and determining allowable range of its use at actual diagnostics.
