FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device, computer system and means for storage of commands, performed by computer system in order to determine intrathoracic blood volume (ITBV) and other cardio-vascular parametres in patient by means of thermodilutional measurements. Device includes a) temperature-influencing means (107) for producing initial local change of temperature near first point (101) of cardio-vascular system (103) of patient, thus, introducing moving temperature deviation into patient's blood stream, b) sensor (117) of temperature for measurement of local temperature of patient's blood in second point (102) of patient's vascular system (103) downward the flow from said first point (101), c) computer system (104) connected with said sensor (117) of temperature and adapted for registering said local temperature of patient's blood, measured in said second point (102), as time function, for determining thermodilution curve, d) said computer system (104) is additionally adapted for determining global end-diastolic volume (GEDV) and intrathoracic thermal volume (ITTV) by said thermodilution curve, e) said computer system (104) is additionally adapted for determining intrathoracic blood volume (ITBV) of patient in accordance with the following formula: ITBV=f(GEDV, ITTV, P), ITBV represents intrathoracic blood volume, GEDV represents global end-diastolic blood volume, ITTV represents intrathoracic thermal volume, P represents pressure in respiratory ways in patient's lungs. By determining ITBV, not only from GEDV, but also as ITTV and D, higher accuracy is achieved, especially when patient has pulmonary edema and/or is on mechanical ventilation.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining intrathoracic blood volume and other cardio-vascular parametres.
