FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: postoperative left ventricle stroke volume and contractility index are measured by means of PiCCO plus monitor system. The postoperative left ventricle stroke volume is further compared to a preoperative left ventricle stroke volume measured echocardiographically. A stroke volume ratio (R) is determined by formula. If the left ventricle contractility index is 1200 mm Hg/s or more, whereas the stroke volume ratio is 0.7 or more, a right ventricle ejection fraction is considered 40% or more that is a normal contractility of the right ventricle. If the left ventricle contractility index is less than 1200 mm Hg/s, and the stroke volume ratio is less than 0.7, the right ventricle ejection fraction is considered less than 40% that is a clinically significant value showing a decline in the right ventricle contractility.

EFFECT: method enables providing more effective measurement of the stroke volume by a possibility to carry out a high-accuracy continuous analysis of the right ventricle contractility, and eliminating postoperative complications.
