FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to overhead contact systems and aims at perfecting contact wire terminal design. Terminal semi-casings are made from weather-proof polymer material with modulus of elasticity in bending making at least 5 GPa. Semi-casing coupling part inner surfaces, located below string hole, feature reduction to make cap between lower parts of said semi-casings in squeezing up contact wire. Wear resistant sleeves are fitted into appropriate holes of semi-casings. Stiffness ribs are arranged on free side surfaces of semi-casings. Bolt joints are made from polymer material that features no creep under load. Wear resistant inserts reinforce semi-casing clamps that envelope upper shaped part of contact wire. Electric contact between contact wire and string is ensured by at least one conducting element to be fitted into one of the clamps.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance, reduced weight, easier servicing.
