FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surface treatment of metals and alloys and can be used for surface hardening of machine components and tools, manufactured from steels in machine building, metallurgical, chemical, toolmaking and other industries. Manufacturing method of steel component with hardened surface includes application on casting mould for receiving of steel component of plaster, dissolved in water up to paste-like condition and containing following components, wt %: chrome boride 20-25, boron carbide 50-60, graphite 5-15, bentonite 5-7, sodium fluoride 2-3. Then it is implemented drying on air up to receiving of solid crust, pouring of molten steel into casting mould and cooling of molten steel together with casting mould up to 400-300°C with receiving of diffusion layer on surface of components. After it is implemented shake-out of component from casting mould and it is implemented bead-blasting treatment of its surface.
EFFECT: increased wear resistance, heat-resistance, corrosion resistance and resort of steel components, it is reduced labour-intensiveness of strengthening process and cost price of mixture for preparation of plaster, it is increased economy of strengthening process.
