FIELD: metallurgy industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to surface impregnation of metals and alloys, and can be used for surface hardening of parts of machines and tools in machine-building industry, metallurgy industry, chemical industry, tool making industry and other industries. Coating is diluted in water till it is a paste, and then it is applied to a part. Coating contains the following components, wt %: titanium diboride - 20-25, boron carbide - 50-60, fine graphite - 10-14, bentonite - 5-7, and sodium fluoride - 3-5. After that the part is dried in the air till a hard skin appears. When the part is heated up to 1050°C to 1150°C there carried out during 4-6 hours is saturation from the coating. After that there performed is low tempering at temperature of 180-200°C during 2 hours.
EFFECT: improving wear-and-tear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and service life of parts made from construction and tool steels; and reducing labour intensity, and improving efficiency of hardening process.
