FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: steel pouring into a mould is carried out. A reinforcing composition is applied on the exposed surface of crystallizing casting in the form of a powder charge comprising the following in wt %: boron carbide 75-85, filler flux P-0.66 15-25. After cooling the casting to a temperature of 900-1000°C, knockout of the resulting moulded part is carried out.
EFFECT: invention can be used for surface hardening during production of thin-walled moulded parts, preferably obtained in the open mould halves and chill moulds of carbon alloy construction steels.
