ICE PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR DRIP CAPS AND SPOUT PIPES Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC E04D13/76 

FIELD: construction industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of construction industry, particularly to ice protection system for drip caps and spout pipes and is meant for prevention of icicles formation on roofs and for prevention of spout pipes damages caused by fall of large pieces of ice into pipes cavity. Prevention of icicles formation is achieved by use of garland with incandescent lamps or with light-emitting diodes placed in translucent sleeve and installed on trajectory of melt-water dropping. It is possible to use instead of garland facility of twin hose with hot air supply. In order to avoid spout pipes damage upon fall of large pieces of ice, reinforcing device may be used which prevents fall of large pieces of ice.

EFFECT: provision of people safety by means of exclusion of conditions for formation of ice and big icicles which may cause injury, prevention of spout pipes breaking-off and fall caused by icing in cold weather and thaw out (with fall of large pieces of ice) in thaw weather, and also provision of conditions for impossibility of posting on spout pipes and protection from hooligans crushing pipes by kicks.
