SUBSTANCE: invention relates to data transmission and can be used in data transmission systems which use error correction codes. Methods and a device are described for realising memory-saving decoders with LDPC. According to the invention, information is stored in compressed state for operations of processing control peaks. The control peak state is completely updated and then subjected to an extraction process to generate messages from the control peak to variable peaks. Characters of messages received from variable peaks can be stored using the control peak processing unit in accordance with the invention for use when extracting messages. The control peak processor can process messages in order of variable peaks, thus providing message processing using the control peak processor and variable peak processor in the same order, thereby reducing or eliminating the need for buffering and/or reordering messages transmitted between control peaks and variable peaks.

EFFECT: increased reliability of transmitting information over a channel.
