FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: grain and fodders drying and treatment installation contains the feed and the discharge bins, a vertical drying chamber designed to be composed of 2 or more pairs of microwave heating and drying modules mounted alternately from top to bottom; the conjugated walls of the drying chambers of the microwave heating module and the dryer chamber of the drying module form a united channel for the grain flow; the cylindrical reflector and the cylindrical heat medium suction chamber positioned on the modules symmetry axis form a united heat medium suction channel covered with a conic splitter damper from above and connected to exhaust ventilation; additionally, the installation contains a microwave generator (consisting of multiple (more than 2) magnetrons with individual power supply sources), horn radiator (the apertures whereof plugged with radiotransparent plugs, oriented towards the chamber inside and installed symmetrically relative to the vertical and the horizontal axes on the heating chamber walls, each horn radiator is connected (via a standard waveguide) to the corresponding magnetron) and a blow fan; the novelty consists in the fact that the vertical drying chamber is shaped as a regular polygon within the horizontal plane, the outer diameter of the cylindrical perforated reflector being less than the heating section width by a value equal to (1.5…2.0)λ where λ is the microwave radiation wavelength.
EFFECT: installation performance increase; process energy-intensity reduction, enhancement of disinfection effect during material treatment, observation of the radiation dose during grain preplant treatment.
