FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: method of monitoring and controlling combustion in the burner and the combustion controlling system in the burner of the device operating on gaseous fuel, that operates in accordance with the method. Method of monitoring and controlling combustion in the burner (1) of the device, operating on gaseous fuel, of the type that contains a sensor (8) with an electrode (E1) located in or near a flame and adapted to feed voltage from the generator, as well as coupled with an electronic circuit adapted to measure the resulting capacity at the electrode. The method comprises the first phase of obtaining and processing data from the experimental conditions and the second phase of estimating the required combustion characteristic at the actual operating conditions of the burner. In the first phase, many experimental conditions for burner combustion (1) are selected in advance, power (P1, P2, Pn) and an additional meaningful parameter (K1, K2, km) of the combustion characteristics are fed to the burner, wherein with each of the experimental conditions a voltage signal is sent to the mentioned electrode (E1), a response signal is sampled, calculating the characteristic signal waveform parameters on the basis of the sampled value sequence for each of the experimental conditions, with the purposes of calculating the correlation function based on the obtained experimental data capable of unique correlating power and additional significant combustion parameter. In the second phase, the electric voltage signal in the actual operating mode is sent to the electrode (E1), and after the cut-off of the sent signal, a series of samples of the resulting response signal at this electrode is performed. Also, in the second phase, the corresponding characteristic waveform parameters of the response signal are calculated for the operating mode on the basis of the sampled value sequence, and the estimated value of the combustion characteristic is calculated using the correlation function.
