SUBSTANCE: recording medium has an initial region, a final region and a data area, where the data area has a user data region and a back-up region. When a microcontroller receives an instruction for physical recording first data into the first region in the user data region and determines that the first region is included in the pre-recorded region, it controls the recording device to record first data into the first overriding region instead and temporarily store the first data record in the memory of the recording device. The first data record specifies the location of the first region and the first overriding region. If the microcontroller detects that the first overriding region is defective, it controls the optical recording device to record first data into the second overriding region and temporarily store a second data record in the memory of the recording device. The second data record specifies the location of the first and second overriding regions. Data record specifying location of the first region and the second overriding region is stored in the disc temporary control region.
EFFECT: reduced input of data records.
