FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: while implementing method first flow of hydrocarbon containing gas and second flow of oxygen containing gas are supplied into reactor. One of these flows is supplied into the reactor along its lengthwise axis. Flows of gases are mixed in the reactor at simultaneous hydrocarbon oxidising; one of gas flows is swirled around the direction of gases flows supply into the reactor facilitating direction of this flow to walls of a reaction chamber. Either first or the second flow of gas are mixed and simultaneously swirled in opposite directions around direction of gas supply into the reactor. The reactor consists of a vertical cylinder case, of the first zone and the second zone, of a layer of catalyst located in the second zone, of the reaction chamber arranged in the first zone, of the first and the second cylinder pipes communicating with the reaction chamber. A vortex is installed inside the second pipe and/or the first and the second pipes.

EFFECT: uniform and homogenous behaviour of oxidising reaction in whole mass of gas.
