FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of machine building, namely to methods and devices for performance of surface strengthening treatment of items made of ferromagnetic materials. Deformation force is applied to rotating item with the help of working tool. Working tool is moved along longitudinal axis of part. Alternating magnetic field is applied to item. Intensity of alternating magnetic field is maintained within the limits of 1.1*105-1.1*106 A/m, and frequency of its oscillations - in the range of 20-70 Hz. At the same time treated item is a composite closing element of magnetic circuit.
EFFECT: reduction of power inputs and improved quality of items.
