FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, namely, to methods of surface processing by hardening articles from ferromagnetic materials. Part outer surfaces are mechanically deformed with application of variable magnetic field thereon. Note here that automatic control system is used made up of RAM unit and transducers. ACS transducers are used to determine specific resistance, specific magnetic resistance and specific temperature. Signals of transducers are sent to RAM memory. Said RAN processes said signals into function vs hardening time graphs for said three measured parametres. Hardening is carried out to maximum change in function of specific resistance, maximum change in function of specific magnetic resistance and maximum change in function of specific temperature.

EFFECT: higher wear resistance, automated hardening process, continuous quality control.
