FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: oscillations of an ultrasonic oscillation system are measured in translucent light. Before installation and launch of the rod-shaped ultrasonic oscillation system, a check point is put on the vertical axis of the crosshair of the microscope eyepiece. The tip of the rod-shaped oscillation system then installed and attached in the field of the microscope. The oscillation mode of the rod is initiated and the double amplitude of these oscillations is viewed in form of a grey area with clear boundaries. Further, the rod is displaced parallel itself such that the bottom point of the boundaries of the grey and black areas are located at the centre of the crosshair of the eyepiece, after which the check point is superposed with the vertical boundary of the grey and white zones by turning the eyepiece. After that the tip of the ultrasonic oscillating system is removed from the microscope and a micrometre scale with known scale interval is put along the horizontal direction. A long graduation mark of the scale is put such that it passes through the centre of the crosshair of the eyepiece and the distance from the centre of the crosshair to the check point is determined from the number of graduation marks of the micrometre scale and so the double amplitude of oscillation of the rod-shaped ultrasonic oscillation system is determined.
