FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: there are applied singular prints of balls on surface of sample and to hardened surface, there are measured diametres of prints and balls. It is measured depth of residual prints on strengthened and non-strengthened surface of sample, by which it is defined contact module of strengthening of strengthened and non-strengthened sample. It is defined intensity of stresses in the middle of print of ball and grade of plastic deformation in print at introduction of ball into strengthened and non-strengthened surface of sample. Considering mentioned parametres it is defined relative grade of elasto-plastic deformation which is calculated by formula which is given in description.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of definition of relative grade of elasto-plastic deformation of material.
