FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for determining ionising radiation dose is realised by putting polymer material into a field under analysis and finding the dose from a calibrated curve of output of radiolysis products versus dose. The measured parametre is output of gaseous radiolysis products. The gaseous radiolysis products which contain H2, CnHm (where n=1…4, m=…10), as well as oxygen and other compounds, depending on the composition of the initial material, accumulate in an enclosed volume and after irradiation, the resulting excess pressure (at constant volume) or volume increment (at constant pressure) is measured. A simpler device which realises the proposed method has a hollow cylinder 1 made from radiation-resistant glass, filled with 10 mm epoxide compound 2 K-115 with a hardener. The dose value is determined from a calibration scale on the housing of the device. The process of determining dose takes 15-30 s.
EFFECT: wider range of the measured dose, simplification of the measurement process.
