FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: described is a ceramic mixture for use in making refractory materials, primarily for lining and repairing metallurgical melting vessels or for lining industrial furnaces. The mixture contains at least one refractory basic component with particle size less than 8 mm in amount of not less than 83 wt %, which contains a fine fraction of particles with size less than 250 mcm, and a separate granulated SiO2-filler of at least one type, which is selected from a group comprising cristobalite, tridymite and coesite, and whose grains have size ranging from 0.5 to 3 mm in amount ranging from 1 to not more than 7 wt %, and possibly other components which make up the remaining amount. The other components of the mixture are at least one component from a group comprising carbon, graphite, resin, pitch, soot, coke and tar. The refractory basic component can be aluminosilicate, magnesite or zirconium-containing.
EFFECT: product made using the said mixture has low fragility and has higher resistance to thermomechanical loads.
