FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: periclase-spinelide articles contain periclase, aluminium-magnesium spinel and a chromium-containing component, in the following ratio, wt %: periclase - basic, aluminium-magnesium spinel - 5-20, chromium-containing component - 3-10. Total content of impurity components in the periclase with grain size not greater than 6 mm is in the range of 0.5-4%. In the aluminium-magnesium spinel the ratio MgO/Al2O3 is equal to (0.28-0.45)/(0.55-0.72), and the ratio of the fraction of grains smaller than 1 mm and larger than 1 mm is in the range of 0.5-1. The chromium-containing component used is chromite ore or chromium concentrate with grain size not greater than 1 mm and the ratio Fe2O3/Cr2O3 in the range of 0.3-0.7.

EFFECT: obtaining a dense high-heat-resistant refractory having low gas permeability and which is resistant to aggressive components during operation.
