FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refractory industry and can be used for production of periclase-spinel articles intended for lining of rotary kilns for burning cement clinker and other high-temperature units. Composition for making periclase-spinel refractories with an elastic structure, which includes periclase with mass fraction of MgO in range of 94–99% and granular aluminium-magnesium spinel with fraction of less than 5 mm with weight fraction Al2O3 in range of 55–70 wt.%, additionally contains conglomerates in the form of granular aluminium-magnesium spinel MgO⋅Al2O3 surrounded by crystallized periclase MgO with the following ratio of components of the mixture, wt.%: periclase is the base, aluminium-magnesium spinel: 5–15, conglomerates, content of which is determined by ratio of fraction of granular aluminium-magnesium spinel to their fraction, which is in range of 0.16–0.38. Weight fraction of Al2O3 in the conglomerates is determined by the ratio to the weight fraction of Al2O3 in the aluminium-magnesium spinel and is in range of 0.3–1.75. Additionally, the composition can contain a high-temperature additive in the form of baddeleyite or rutile concentrate in amount of 1–3% over 100%.

EFFECT: creation of dense high-temperature refractory with elastic structure, providing stable resistance of lining to high temperature gradient and resistance to action of aggressive components of working medium.
