FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the refractory industry and can be used for producing the periclase-spinel refractory products intended for casting and processing steel in various high-temperature metallurgical units. The composition for producing periclase-spinel refractories includes a periclase component and a spinel-containing composition of a fraction of less than 0.5 mm with the following component ratio, wt %: periclase component with a content of MgO of, at least, 95% - the basis, spinel-containing composition 3-15. According to the invention, the spinel-containing composition is characterized by a mass fraction of MgO in the range of 5-25% and is represented as a spinel phase of MgO⋅Al2O3 and Al2O3. The composition for producing the periclase-spinel refractories may further comprise TiO2 and/or zirconium dioxide ZrO2 in the amount of up to 7%.
EFFECT: production of a refractory with a dense heat-resistant structure providing high resistance to the action of melts and slags.
